CUESoft's recent solutions represent some of the more prominent projects that have been developed recently. While they do not necessarily represent the "core" of CUESoft's services, they do typically represent some of the latest "hot" software.
Remote Machine Communication System - Developed in conjunction with Cleo Communications, this system is a remote management, file/information transfer, and maintenance product for massive implementations. Designed to scale up, this system is ideal for communicating with tens of thousands of kiosks or other remote hardware.
CUESoft's XML-based CUEScript scripting engine provides the foundation for truely dynamic system. Specifically, this software addresses the following business problems:
- A scalable system that will easily handle over 100,000 devices.
- Scheduler for scheduling jobs and providing backup jobs for failed items.
- Assignment of appliances to specific communication hardware.
XSite Regulatory Software - This project served as the core for what has become CUESoft's XDocument product framework. The regulatory version of this software is used to prepare documents for submission to regulatory bodies (i.e FDA).
This software addresses the following business problems:
- Regulatory departments were using Microsoft Word to create submission documents. Content from previously approved submissions were difficult to track down.
- Document/fragment changes had to be auditable, who made what changes.
- Documents needed to be version controlled and had to go through an approval lifecycle.
- Submission documents needed a consistent look and feel.
- Content needed to be reused with different presentation to other regulatory bodies.
This project addressed these problems by creating a new process for creating documents. Instead of writing documents using Microsoft Word, which creates unstructured documents from a content perspective, documents are created using an XML editor with a Word-like WYSIWYG interface. With documents in a structured markup (XML), the content of the document is separated from the style.
Documents are created by combining or creating document fragments. Each fragment can go through its own approval cycle. The fragments are also tagged with keywords, product information, and other data that is helpful in retrieving these same fragments for future documents. Fragments can be dragged into a document and re-arranged by manipulation in the editor or by dragging section headings in the document content tree.
Output documents are created by applying XSLT to the XML to produce XSL-FO. The XSL-FO is then rendered to a PDF ready for submission or Word document.
Some other functionality in this solution includes:
- Template fragments and documents
- Version control via a content management system (i.e. Documentum)
- Document workspaces and projects
- Inclusion of exhibits, images and other documents
Built on top of the XSite Studio Framework, this application is ready to be extended to include Workflow, additional editors, and more complex review systems.
